Chicago

Last weekend was one of the best weekends I had since I got here :) We (Tracee, Scott, Jason, Aturo and myself) headed down to Chicago where Jaspn when to college. Mikey, a friend of Jasons works in the 100% PIMP Sound Bar. This place was class, and Laurent Gardnier was the DJ which was really cool. The best thing though was because of Mikey we all got into the VIP room. Stephen met us there, it really was an amazing night. We partied until the late hours of the morning.

Terrible!

I really am bad a putting entries into this web log! Well I have been very busy for the last week at work. If your not a techie skip the next paragraph.

I installed a MailScanner gateway to filter spam, virii etc before relaying it to the mail server. I did so using exim, SA, MailScanner, clamv, razor, dcc, RulesDuJour and stuff. It seems to be working like a charm, didn't mean I didn't shit myself when I thought mail was bouncing, when all that had happened is that I mis-spelt my own username :) At the moment there's an equal MX record in there, the original entry will be removed tomorrow. This change was cool for one reason, it's going to be very noticeable at every level of the company, so hopefully the guys up above will notice it a little.

Apart from working I've been enjoying madison, the weather is summer like and it's warm during the hours of day, it still gets a little chilly at night. My grandmother said that my Uncl might visit me next week which would be cool (even if I have to buy bed sheets! ;). I went out last thursday night with the guys from work and a night which I was a little hesitant about turned out to be very good. There was some karoke, and while I didn't sing myself some of the people were very good. I kinda felt like I was at one of Donal Muligans house parties though :)

I had planned to go out friday night however when I got home thursday evening I bumbed into my neighbours and we had a few drinks to get to know each other.. friday nigh was a non go after that :)

Long week

Wow I'm allready not keeping up to date with my Blog. Well I'm getting setteled into work, I got introduced to the ticket manager at work, and she's a beast to get a handle on. I came into work today to only work on it. I messed up a load of tickets this week, I hope no one pulls me on it, I'll get it right next week. The system works well it's just not designed for admins, or people who have only one client, both of which I am.

I love american food. I really do. During this week I had 4 all you can eat buffets, two indian, one pizza and one chinesse. While I'm a huge fan of indian the chinesse was the best.. Oh sweet food. I haven't put on much weight but a few trips to the basketball courts will not go to waste.

I'm getting settled down in my new place, the common room is pretty cool but not very many people use it which is strange. I headed out on the town with one of the guys fromthe office, Nathan, both of us were in till nine so we went for a few martini's.

I have alot of work to get done next week, I'll probally come into the office for a few hours I have some things to get out of the way.
